VISAS & CURRENCY

Travelers to Portugal must follow Schengen visa and currency regulations. Citizens of many countries can enter Portugal visa-free for short stays (up to 90 days), but it’s recommended to check the specific visa requirements for your nationality before traveling.

The local currency is the Euro (EUR).

Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and shops, though cash is often preferred for markets, small vendors, and some local establishments.
